The Lost Art of Natural Parenting challenges the “rules” of modern parenthood, giving you the courage to embrace an authentic, respectful and empathetic approach to parenting.

Close your eyes for a moment and recall how you felt when you found out you were becoming a parent. Were you filled with wonder and excitement? Or did you feel completely overwhelmed? Perhaps you wondered whether you would be a good parent. All of these feelings are normal.

After all, our society tends to paint parenthood as something to “get through”, prioritizing adult’s wants over children’s needs.

But, it doesn’t have to be that way. Are you ready to parent through connection rather than coercion? Through love rather than fear?

It’s time to rouse your natural parenting instincts and be the parent you want to be, not the one society expects you to be. Because when we meet children’s needs they thrive and parenting becomes easier, smoother and infinitely more enjoyable.

Natural parenting is unconventional but it is logical, authentic and backed by science.

If you’re curious about natural parenting, want to make more conscious parenting choices or are seeking knowledge and support, then you’re in the right place.

I wrote The Lost Art of Natural Parenting for you.

“The Lost Art of Natural Parenting shares a beautiful message – that parenting can be an enlightening experience, challenging us to become the best version of ourselves as our children teach us how to become the parents they need us to be. It is a fascinating read and as a parent, one can’t help but feel empowered in the knowledge that by taking an intentional and conscious approach to parenting, no matter how different that may look to the mainstream, we are setting the stage for a lifetime of unyielding connection with our children. I can’t recommend this book highly enough for parents who feel that there must be a better way.”

– Dr. Shefali Tsabary | NYT Bestselling Author and Clinical Psychologist

“The Lost Art Of Natural Parenting is an inspiring resource for parents of young children, using the lens of brain development to suggest wiser decisions about everything from sleep and breastfeeding to discipline and play. This is the book your child wants you to read. Why? Because this is how children are hard-wired to be parented.

“Tracy’s writing is beautiful and a joy to read. The Lost Art of Natural Parenting is heartfelt, soulful, honest and inspiring, while being thoroughly researched and scientifically-backed. It is a brave mother who so openly questions the way society tells us to parent. Tracy makes us feel safe to start a much needed conversation about a deeper, more connected and better way of parenting.”

– Hannah Loaring | Writer and Visual Storyteller, Further Bound

“Reading The Lost Art of Natural Parenting has been a great privilege. I feel very in tune with Tracy, her writing and with the views she so eloquently expresses. I’m so grateful she has written this book for all parents who feel alone in their unconventional choices. We are parenting in a critical time where honesty and transparency is oh-so-needed for us parents to help and guide our children to have the bright and limitless future we hope and dream for them.”

– Sharndelle Fernandez | Mother to two-year-old Milan

“When people tell me, “stop picking up your baby”, “just feed him formula” or “he needs a time out” I turn to Tracy for advice. I feel so lucky to have someone who has walked the less-travelled path before me as I feel alone in most of my parenting choices. Like her writing on Raised Good, Tracy’s passion for natural parenting leaps off the page while giving me renewed confidence that while some people will always think natural parenting is only for hippies, it is actually rooted in science, evolutionary history and logic.”

– Laura Shallue | Mother to Blake, a bright and spirited one year old

lost art of natural parenting

Well, hello there! I’m Tracy Gillett, a nature-loving, adventure-seeking natural mother.

Since welcoming our son into the world three years ago, I have been grateful every single day that we discovered this form of parenting and am beyond excited to share what I have learned with you.

I’m on a mission to help you free yourself from the “rules” of modern parenthood by following your instincts. I want parenting to be a joy, an honour and a privilege for you, rather than something to get through or merely survive.

I launched Raised Good in 2016 and have been overwhelmed by the positive response from parents all over the world. Our common thread is that our instincts are telling us something about the way our culture tells us to raise children isn’t working. And while I may not have all the answers, I’m willing to ask the tough questions and advocate for kids and for you, their brave and amazing parent.
